G-Schmitt - LSD

release date: xx.xx.1985
1. LSD | 3:47
2. Rudy II | 2:58
6:44
A pretty short single from a band that has way longer releases than this! But I like it a lot. Has a very distinctive dark vibe to it, vocals filled with personality, and really good compositions in these two songs. Has one of my favorite songs from this project, Rudy II.

8. TOKYO CITY NIGHT | 3:37
9. POOR BOY | 3:02
10. STARTIN' AGAIN | 6:59
37:44
Quite a difference from the two previous albums on this list, since this is pure energy filled 80s glam rock. This is a special album for me because it's just so carelessly happy. Great for just forgetting everything and being mindlessly happy for some time.

BILLY AND THE SLUTS - BATS From Jack In The Box

release date: xx.xx.1989
1. Long Jennie Silver | 4:55
2. Skin Head Groupie | 4:48
3. Need at Once | 3:40
4. Rock'N'Roller Gossip | 5:59
5. Love Affair | 3:00
6. Honey | 2:13
7. Too Nights | 3:55
8. From Jack In The Box | 6:29
9. Easy Trips | 2:46
10. Feel So Good Luck | 3:49
41:27
Yet again, another "mindlessly happy" 80s rock album. This album has a lot of songs I love, best examples being track 2, Skin Head Groupie (known in other places, and even listed on the recs list as "Only You") and track 4, Rock'N'Roller Gossip. Sort of a lighter punk sound, may even call it easy listening at some points.

Speed-ID - Inner Dimension

release date: 21.09.1993
1. Moon Shine | 4:30
2. Mad House Freaks | 4:26
3. Drive With Speed Slave | 4:27
4. 薔薇と摩天楼 | 6:02
5. Kiss Me Slowly | 5:26
6. Over Dose | 6:30
7. Round Midnight | 6:02
8. Phatom Of Romance | 4:09
9. Malaria | 5:27
10. 冷血 | 6:11
11. Across The Twilight | 14:48
1:07:54
A solid album. Has a very wholesome romantic feel in most of the songs, feels very fresh. Does have some noticeably annoying nuances in track 6, Over Dose, which I understand may have been put in for added effect, but just sort of messes things up. But there are some beautiful tracks, most notably Drive With Speed Slave, Kiss Me Slowly and Phantom Of Romance, although the vast majority of this record is incredibly pleasing to listen to.

AFTER IMAGE- 霞

release date: 08.06.1994
1. 霞 | 12:49
12:49
A one-song (almost 13 minutes long though!) demo... I love this because it feels really special due to the grainy quality that makes everything sound very ethereal. The synthethized strings add a really dated quality to the already well composed song that I really like. This demo pre-dates the 2000 re-release, with a higher production and the introduction of soprano vocals from the later-joining bandmember Nene (profile available here), even though both versions are just as beautiful. I would truly consider it a masterpiece of neoclassical music.

L'arc~en~Ciel - Tierra

3. Blame | 5:11
4. Wind Of Gold | 4:29
5. Blurry Eyes | 4:20
6. Inner Core | 5:31

8. 風の行方 | 5:24
9. 瞳に映るもの | 4:47
10. White Feathers | 7:58

Quite possibly one of the best-known albums on this list, so known I probably shouldn't even be talking about it. But I will, because this album was one of the first ones I heard from this genre and it made me fall in love with it up until this day. This album is so joyful and a bit sad at times, but it a good way. Makes me very happy to listen to it, also brings really sweet memories of the first times I've listened to it.

Actually a compilation disc! But this is just wonderful to listen to. Lots of reworked versions of previous songs that had been included on demos (see the earlier entry on this list, for an example), with more details added to them. Listening to it is like a dream. Recommended tracks: 虚像の神 and Tell Me Truth, both very different in terms of pace, but both being very well composed.

10. Cruel Arcadia | 4:06
11. Innermost... | 5:15
12. Khaos | 6:34

One of the best albums I've ever heard. Full of raw emotion and great musicianship. Eclectic compositions and full of small details that just add a lot more flavor to the experience. Greatly recommended, full of unknown gems sort of buried by this artist's more known songs like Honey Vanity. I honestly love all of these songs but if I had to pick favorites, I'd probably go with Nocturne, Innermost..., Crimson Star and Life Goes On~With Melancholy.

The debut album from what I'd call my most favorite band. I love this despite not having been well received in its release (and still not getting that much love nowadays). Full of variety in terms of musicianship and compositions, following a lot of moods, from extreme energy to introspection and nostalgia. A fairly quick listen too.

Heard this right after it came out and fell in love at first listen. Such a flawless EP, every song (each written by one bandmember- check here for full credits) has a lot of distinct flavor, and I feel like each really represents the bandmember who wrote it. Saw a filming of this live and it just made me love it a lot more, they put 50x more energy live, which is saying a lot because the recording is already full of soul. Would say my favorite tracks are all of them. Totally recommended to absolutely anyone.
